I will be supportive of my child’s team, not just my child. I will be respectful of all players, including my child’s teammates and the opposing team.
I will not shout instructions to my child during the game and will allow my child to be coached by the coaches.
I will not approach the coach on, during or after any practice or game. If I have any question, comment, or concern, I will wait until the next day to contact the coach.
I will not speak negatively about my child’s performance or that of his/her teammates or anyone on the opposing team.
I will encourage my child to compete while understanding that basketball is just a game and the lessons to be learned involving hard work, dedication, teamwork, commitment, and leadership will have lifelong benefits. No one game or one performance should undermine this.
I will do my best to make sure my child arrives 15 minutes before games. In the event that my child cannot play the game, I will notify CMEK as soon as possible.
Players
I will abide by the 100% rule and always give 100% effort, 100% of the time.
I understand that I am the one person who decides how good I can be and will work hard in practices, games, and on my own to achieve my goals.
I will listen to my coaches and ask questions when I don’t understand a new concept.
I will come to games and practices prepared to play, in uniform with basketball sneakers and fluids ready to re-hydrate. I will bring a basketball to all trainings, practices, and camps.
I will always be positive and demonstrate good body language towards my teammates, coaches, referees, spectators, and the other team. I will carry myself like a winner.
I will understand that winning and losing is more than what the scoreboard says and will always carry myself with class.
When I visit a gym to play a game, I will be respectful of the court, the property and the surroundings
Coaches
I will arrive 15 minutes prior to my scheduled program.
I will be dressed professionally, clean-cut and in CMEK attire. I will stand during all games and show emotion, passion and lead by positive encouragement.
I will be prepared with a whistle, clop-board, basketballs and all other equipment needed.
I will be a role model to everyone; I will lead through positive encouragement and appropriate language
I will wear a watch so I can manage my program; I will not use my cell phone unless their is an emergency.
I will be respectful of all CMEK venues and surrounding gyms and make sure they are clean.
I will make sure kids are properly supervised until they leave with their parents.
I will make sure that off the court, through social media as well, that I represent the program at the highest level
